Royal LePage Brookside Realty is a family-owned real estate and property management office in downtown Maple Ridge, serving Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Mission and the wider Fraser Valley.

Our Story

Our office has served downtown Maple Ridge as a real estate brokerage since 1969, and has been owned by Jim Isherwood since 1982. That continuity is unusual in this industry — more than forty years of the same family answering the phone, holding the licences and standing behind the advice.

Located across from City Hall, Brookside combines licensed REALTORS®, brokers and property managers under a single roof. It is a rare mix that lets us support a client through an entire property journey: buying a first home, investing in a rental, placing and caring for tenants, and eventually selling with the full history of the property already on file. Brookside Realty’s history isn’t measured simply in years. It is reflected in decades of service, professional recognition and involvement in the communities we serve.

From Jim Isherwood’s early MLS® Medallion recognition to Brookside’s provincial production achievements and decades with Royal LePage, the awards and records preserved today provide a glimpse into a much larger history.

Top-tier MLS® record

President’s Club — Top 1% Recognition

MLS® Medallion Club and President’s Club are distinct levels of recognition in the Greater Vancouver program. Medallion Club recognizes high annual production; President’s Club has been described in published program materials as representing approximately the top 1% of Greater Vancouver REALTORS® and Board members.

Surviving plaques and original Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver ceremony records document Jim Isherwood’s President’s Club recognition across multiple years and periods. Plaques are identified by performance year — the year following “Combined Listings and Sales” — separately from their presentation dates. The recovered plaque recognizes James R. Isherwood’s combined listings and sales in 1996; January 1997 is its presentation date.

The documented President’s Club performance years include 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2008. Original Board programs also list “Isherwood, James R.” under “Medallion Club 1989 — Medallion President’s Club” (February 1, 1989) and “Medallion Club 1992 — Medallion President’s Club” (February 5, 1992). These are the programs’ recognition years, not inferred performance years. This surviving record is selected documentation, not necessarily every President’s Club year Jim achieved; some physical awards have been lost over the decades.

Long-term consistency

More Than Four Decades of Medallion Recognition

Jim’s first confirmed MLS® Medallion qualifying year is 1980. Surviving milestone awards include 10-Year recognition in 1991, the 15-Year Award in January 1996 and the 20-Year MLS® Medallion Award in February 2001.

The original Medallion Club 1983 program lists James R. Isherwood under “Two Year Members”; the 1986 program lists him under “Master Member”. These membership designations corroborate the early Medallion record, rather than establish additional President’s Club years or change the independently verified qualifying years.

Greater Vancouver REALTORS® records now confirm 30 Medallion qualifying years and recognize Jim as an MLS® Medallion Club Lifetime Member. These are qualifying years across his career, not 30 consecutive years. Older ceremony programs provide additional corroboration of Medallion participation, without establishing extra President’s Club years.

The Realty World–Brookside Years

Before becoming Royal LePage Brookside Realty, Brookside operated under the Realty World banner. Surviving awards from this period document both individual and brokerage achievements in British Columbia.

Realty World–Brookside was recognized as the office with the Highest Production in the British Columbia Region for 1995/96 and again for 1996/97.

Surviving 1996 awards also recognize Jim Isherwood as a British Columbia Region Production Leader and Listings Leader.

Development experience

New Development Experience

For more than four decades, Jim Isherwood and Brookside Realty have worked with residential developments throughout Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, including apartment buildings, conventional and street-oriented townhomes, duplex and triplex-style communities, and single-family projects.

Jim has participated in certain projects as a developer. More commonly, developers retained Jim and Brookside Realty to help position, market and sell their newly constructed homes. You can review Brookside’s documented new development projects and sales history.

The archive includes a detailed Meadowview Estates case study, documenting Jim Isherwood’s development-company ownership, Nicole Isherwood’s financial administration work, and Brookside’s original listing-side role in Pitt Meadows.

It also documents the historical 23711 132 Avenue rezoning, subdivision and renovation case study, distinguishing Brookside Properties’ original land-development work from the townhome project later completed by subsequent parties at 23710 133 Avenue.

Jim Isherwood

Jim has owned Royal LePage Brookside Realty since 1982, guiding the office through more than four decades of Fraser Valley market cycles. He bought a brokerage that had already served downtown Maple Ridge since 1969 and built it into a family-run business known locally for straight answers and long-term relationships.

His work spans residential sales, investment property, land and development opportunities, and the brokerage oversight that keeps Brookside's sales and property management sides working as one team. Many of Jim's clients are second- and third-generation — families he first helped buy a starter home now list with him decades later.

Nicole Isherwood

Associate Broker, REALTOR® & Licensed Rental Property Manager

Nicole represents the second generation of the Isherwood family at Brookside. She works with buyers and sellers across Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and leads the client side of the property management division, supporting landlords, out-of-area owners and tenants day to day.

Her focus is practical, well-documented service: honest pricing conversations, careful tenant placement, and clear communication from the first phone call through to completion or the end of a tenancy.
